"Izar," the Basque word for "star," is the flagship of Nekeas and is produced only in vintages deemed excellent by the winery.
This cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Tempranillo is fermented and aged in French oak barrels. The grapes come from the highest elevations of the Nekeas Valley, where they reach their full potential. The roots penetrate deep into the soil, resulting in small, concentrated berries that lead to a wine with exceptional aging potential.
